Kimberly was born and raised in Wabash, Indiana. She is married to Randy Garriott, presently active duty in the USCG. Together they have two adult children, Hunter and Tawna. She and her family have been stationed in Cape May, New Jersey; Chattanooga, Tennessee; Chesapeake, Virginia; and presently Newport News, which they now call home.
She has an Associate Degree in General Studies, is a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) nationwide through IAAP, and obtained a diploma in Secretarial-Science and in Office Training and presently working on her Administrative Personnel Association (APA) Certification through the Presbytery.
Although she has over 25+ years administrative experience in Behavioral Health, Kimberly was looking for a change. She has been employed with our church since September 5, 2017.
Director of Music Ministries
Jane was born and raised in Charlotte, NC where she was an active church member at Park Road Baptist Church. Jane attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. She earned an M. A. degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She has two lovely daughters and three beautiful granddaughters. Jane has been working with the children of the church since the 1980s to the present. She retired from 35 years of teaching in June of 2014. Jane has served as choir director, singer, accompanist, handbell director, handbell ringer, and leader of the music program for Vacation Bible School. She is presently the Chancel Choir and Handbell Director.
Al has a B.S. degree in Music Education and completed graduate work in music and educational technology. A few years ago, he retired from the public school system where he taught for 25 years. Al has been involved with professional church music for about 50 years. He has served several denominations as paid vocalist, choir director and organist/pianist. He served as organist for the Denbigh congregation approximately 15 years before retiring. After a few years, he returned from retirement as organist/accompanist and is now in his third year. While having extensive experience in vocal/choral music, he is up lifted and challenged by accompanying choir and congregational singing. Al became a Denbigh United Presbyterian Church member in 2014 and was ordained as a ruling elder in the church in 2021.

Tammy Castagna began as director of Denbigh United Presbyterian Preschool in 2014. She was previously employed as director and lead teacher at Second Presbyterian Preschool for 15 years. Mrs. Castagna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Longwood University and a Master’s degree in Education/Developmental Reading from The College of William and Mary. Before her preschool career, Mrs. Castagna taught kindergarten, first, third, and fourth grades in Virginia public schools for 10 years. Mrs. Castagna has a wonderful husband, three adult children, two cats, and a little beagle named Molly. She is an active member of Saint Jerome Catholic Church. Mrs. Castagna enjoys camping, Sudoku puzzles, and reading stories to children. She is very excited and honored to be a part of Denbigh United Presbyterian Preschool!

As a family, we have been a part of Denbigh United Presbyterian Church since 1980. We became the sextons in 1997. We work as a team, because cooperation and team work make everyone’s load lighter. It is a privilege to take care of God’s house.
