Open Your Hearts

Millions of struggling children in some of the most remote corners of the world are receiving hope and the Good News of Jesus Christ through gift-filled shoeboxes from Samaritan’s Purse. Since 1993, more than 113 million gift boxes have been packed by people like you for Operation Christmas Child. Each gift is a tangible expression of God’s love for precious boys and girls in need.

But there is more to these simple gifts than the sparkly toys, welcomed school supplies, and cuddly plush animals. Around the world, young hearts are open to unwrapping the true meaning of Christmas and receiving the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ.

These children are also learning what it means to follow Christ and share their faith with others through The Greatest Journey, our compelling 12-lesson discipleship program.

Boxes and information brochures will be available in the front and back entryways of the church and in the narthex beginning October 10. This may be the only gift this child receives. Pack it with fun toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and $9 for shipping and handling. Checks may be made out to Samaritan’s Purse with a note on the memo link that the donation is for Operation Christmas Child.

Please return boxes to the church by November 14. Please contact Janet Morrison at 757-879-6729 if you have any questions.
