Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday
Our Souper Bowl Sunday at DUPC will be very different this year but I am
already looking forward to next year when we can be together again for our usual luncheon enjoying all of our delicious soups and desserts.
For this year, as was announced during last week’s worship service, we will be collecting food donations and something new: Blessing Bags. Donations can be dropped off at the church or the Youth Ministry team is more than happy to drop off a grocery bag to collect your donations and/or pick up any donations left outside your front door.
Please contact Kathy Baldwin, at 757-373-1459 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org, if you would like us to drop off a grocery bag on Sunday, January 31 and/or pick up your donations on Sunday, February 7.
Food Pantry items most in need at this time: baked beans, dried beans, cereal, jelly, and peas.
Other food pantry needs: Hamburger Helper, rice sides, pudding/
Jell-O, crackers, pasta, peanut butter, and soup
BLESSING BAGS are a collection of small toiletries and laundry
detergent—things that can be purchased at the Dollar Store. This
allows THRIVE to give a little extra help by adding a bag to a family’s food pickup. Items can be placed in a “Blessing Bag” (any bag or plastic
baggie) or one can just donate toiletry items and THRIVE volunteers will put together the bags.
Finally, you may also make a donation and note in the memo line “Souper Bowl of Caring.”
DUPC has always been so very generous on Souper Bowl Sunday and we thank you in advance if you are able to donate this year.
Blessings to All,
The Youth Ministry Team
