Grants Received by DUPC for Our Ministries

Our church has received four grants to support and enhance our ministries. We are most grateful.

Bombas Sock Company awarded us 1,000 pairs of socks (children’s and adult sizes) for our next PORT Homeless Shelter at DUPC and for the Christmas clothing gifts for the children/teens of our Paul’s Ministry.

Peninsula Community Foundation & Impact 100 Greater Peninsula awarded DUPC a grant of $5,000 from their VA Peninsula COVID-19 Response Fund. We will use these funds to assist church and community families whose finances have been adversely affected by the virus, to provide ongoing lunches for those in our community who are homeless, and to provide money for our modified summer education ministry.

Presbytery of Eastern Virginia (PEVA) has awarded our church two grants. We received a Hunger Grant of $1,000 to help us fund the lunches for those who are homeless. We are hopeful of continuing this ministry until the PORT Shelter can reopen in November.

We also received a Technology Grant in the amount of $2,000 from PEVA. The Presbytery is aware of the expenses involved in purchasing special computers, cameras, and software for effectively live-streaming worship services and other events on an ongoing basis and has offered these grants to assist churches.

Thank you to Bombas, Peninsula Community Foundation & Impact 100 Greater Peninsula, and PEVA for assisting our congregation and others in this challenging time of ministry.
